Life is such a fleeting thing

It’s there before,

And now it’s gone

I see you smile

Haunts upon my face

Is it a longing or of regret?

A kindred spirit

A lost soul

And now you’re gone

And I feel lost…

The days gone by

I hardly know

You were there

And I was everywhere

Our roads hardly meet

I can’t even say hello

And ask you: “How do you do?”

And now you’re gone

I feel so cold

I’m overwhelmed by your loss

The numbness I felt

Can never be replaced

For you are gone

All I ever have

Are the memories

Of the moments

Spent together

It resonates through my psyche

It lingers through my senses…

Though you’re not my maternal mom

But the feeling is real

And for that I’m glad

To have you in my life…

I love you though you may never know

Yet I wish the angels will sing it for me
